I’ve only just recovered from the new year’s eve party (and subsequent manflu) to be able to blog about it. The credit crunch bit hard towards the end of last year so despite doing 2007 in Shanghai and initially planning for Bali for 2008 we all ended up partying in London instead of somewhere exotic.
I [...]
Following on from my previous post about inspiration sources I’m in a contemplative mood, it’s almost 2009 and looking back over the last year (or even ten) I’m thinking about goals for the year ahead, both personal and business ones, it’s evident to me that when I’ve used goals I’ve achieved things, when I haven’t I [...]
It’s all doom and gloom at the moment so I thought I’d share a few of my favourite sites which either inspire me to look at new things, to try harder, or even take it easier, the main theme is to find an idea, develop it and get it built, then work smarter instead of [...]
Steady on.. I’m not confessing anything of a deviant nature (that’s all still secret) but I’ve been increasingly stressed with windows vista both on my office machine and my laptop at home and I won’t even go into the two PCs I’ve got upstairs at home that won’t work properly! The Journey from Bangkok was cool and uneventful, The Emirates flight was fine and we landed on time, I found transfer desk, got my ticket and had my check on bag retagged, then boarded the slightly delayed flight from Hong Kong to Shanghai about 830pm.
After a further one hour thirty minutes sat on the runway the DragonAir pilot announced the flight [...]
We flew out of Hong Kong on Emirates, the business class service was excellent as usual and the lounge was good, nice showers, plenty of food and free wifi and although my favourite airline is Virgin (just have to love the fully flat bed !) Emirates is a close second so we arrived at [...]
We took the Helicopter to Macau, the flight was all of 16 minutes but offered some amazing views of Hong Kong and the surrounding islands, you could see hundreds of ships and got a good view of some of the more industrial areas on the outskirts.
Macau seems well serviced, the Helicopter flights are every 30 [...]
Continuing on with my Asian business oppotuinities fest, the journey out of Shanghai was fun, we decided to catch the Maglev train, which was very clean, bright and comfortable and hit 431 kph (268 mph) for a short time on the trip to the airport, which was so fast as it shot past houses and trees [...]
They would still be poor compared to Shak’s Shanghai Party !
Bearing in mind we are in a supposedly barren part of the world for nightlife the evening started at Casa 13, a very nice chilled out bar restaurant situated just off a side-street which was off a main road, typical Shanghai style if you don’t know [...]
I arrived in China for the first time yesterday, Still a little jet lagged so not the best post I’ll ever write but here’s the story so far .
I was met at Shanghai’s Pudong airport by Shak’s driver and rapidly led to his car and then driven to the Hyatt on the Bund in what [...]
